January: A Fresh Start in the Middle of the Year

Hi friends,

January is such a strange month in homeschool life. We’ve started a brand new year, but we’re still right in the middle of a school year that began back in August or September. For some of us that feels refreshing, like we get a second chance. For others it feels overwhelming, like we’re behind and can’t catch up.

After ten years of homeschooling my own kids, I can confidently say I have definitely felt both throughout the years.

So this month, I want to share a gentle reminder: you’re not behind. This is actually a perfect moment to re-evaluate what’s working in your homeschool and what isn’t. Every January I pause and I ask myself, “Is our schedule serving us? Are the classes we’re taking still a good fit? Is the curriculum clicking? Too easy? Too hard? I don’t overhaul everything, but this is the time I allow myself to shift what needs shifting to help us all be more successful.

In this month’s newsletter you’ll find a link to The Family Rhythm Builder, a customizable spreadsheet that allows you to see your whole schedule and each student’s schedule with a Birds Eye view. Use the code, “HPSUB100” for 100% off!

With Warmth,
Allison Serrao
